Weston Attorney Jorge P. Gutierrez Jr
Jorge P. Gutierrez Jr. is a native Floridian who was born and raised in West Palm Beach. He attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. While at Florida State, Jorge was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Jorge later attended St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, Florida, where he received his Juris Doctorate degree.
Since 1999, Jorge has been successfully trying cases and obtained numerous settlements throughout Florida in the areas of serious personal injury & wrongful death, medical malpractice, and general civil litigation in the commercial and health care settings. In addition, Jorge has successfully handled arbitration disputes before the American Arbitration Association as well as the American Health Lawyers' Association.
Jorge is a member of the Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida as well as the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He is admitted to practice in all Florida State courts. He is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Miami-Dade Justice Association, Cuban American Bar Association and the Florida Justice Association.
Jorge is also a nationally recognized sportsman & conservationist with an interest in the Florida Everglades, wildlife management, fisheries and natural resources. As a lifelong advocate for public access and recreation on state and federal public lands and waters, he was recently elected President of the Everglades Coordinating Council, a consortium of vastly different and diverse Florida sportsmen & conservation organizations. As a result of his involvement in these issues, he has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources on wildlife conservation and sportsmen issues and was recently appointed by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior to serve on the Big Cypress National Preserve Off-Road Vehicle Advisory Committee.
Jorge lives in Miami with his wife and their 2 children. Jorge is fluent in Spanish.
