Practice Area - Defective Medical Devices
There are many medical
devices that can be implanted into the human body to
extend, or improve the quality of life. Sometimes
these devices are defective, improperly used or
negligently inserted.
These devices fall into several categories;
orthopedic (bone, hip, knee, and joint screws, rods
and plates), cosmetic (penile, breast and chin
implants), cardiology (pacemakers, artificial heart
valves and vascular stints), therapeutic devices
(catheters and tubing), contraceptive devices (IUDs)
and surgical tools. Defective medical devices can
cause pain and suffering and require individuals to
undergo additional painful and costly surgeries. |
